Medicaid

Medicaid is a health insurance program for certain low-income and medically needy people paid for with federal and state dollars. It covers more than 1.5 million people in our state, including children, parents and caretakers of children under age 18, the aged, the blind and/or disabled, and individuals who are eligible to receive federally assisted income maintenance payments.

Medicaid could pay for:

  • Medical bills
  • Prescriptions
  • Dental care
  • Nursing home care
  • Medically necessary transportation
  • Medicare premiums
