Disaster Case Management

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, Ashe County Department of Social Services worked to quickly stand up a dedicated team to work with hurricane survivors across Ashe County through all phases of the recovery and restoration process.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Disaster Case Management is a voluntary service;
  • A vetted and verified Hurricane Helene survivor;
  • A resident of Ashe County.

What We Do

  • Provide comprehensive disaster case management services assistance to families in response to, and as they recover from, natural disasters;
  • Disaster Case Managers complete client assessments, develop recovery plans, assist when able with locating financial assistance, and make necessary referrals for additional resources and services;
  • Assist clients with FEMA applications and appeals;
  • Assist clients with locating necessary resources to meet families immediate needs.
